This training program is for both novice and experienced learners. These people will operate an Excavator when performing their daily duties. 

  • What is an excavator?

    Most common excavator types (crawler, wheeled, mini-excavators, etc.)

    Excavator Function in construction and excavation projects.

  • ID or Passport
  • Minimum level of education: Grade 9
  • CV ( for job assistance )
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Old license and certificate (for renewals or recertification)
Understanding components to check on a daily basis during the pre-start or pre-operating checks.

Functions and importance of each part (e.g., boom, bucket, tracks).

Familiarity with the different controls and their functions
  • Walk Around Checks
    Pre-starting Checks
    Pre-operating Checks
  • Site Safety Regulations and Protocols.

    Hazards Identification or Risk Zones

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for excavator operators.

Pivot turn, Backhoe operation, Spin or Spot Turn, Ditching Operation.

Loading Haul Trucks
Excavating, digging, and trenching techniques.
Loading and dumping materials.
Grading and levelling with an excavator.

Transporting excavator to and from site.
